Random Stuff #9

The magic of Christmas. The last few days have been fun-filled. With dancing, singing and a lot of merrymaking at The Pogues’s annual Christmas show. And Slava’s Snowshow, one of the most magical and wonderful show we have been to in a long long time. We had so much fun.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and may 2014 bring you all you desire, many happy travels and much randomness. To those of you caught in the aftermath of the storm, safe travels home.

> Surfing in snowy Iceland.

> Feline festive joy. Silent Night by Jingle Cats.

> In April 2011, I was on my way back to Reykjavik after a day touring the Golden Circle when I spotted the entrance to an elf dwelling. I was, the guide informed me, travelling through elf country. She wasn’t kidding. “[E]lves are no joke to many in Iceland.” Which is why “Elf advocates in Iceland have joined forces with environmentalists to urge authorities to abandon a highway project that they claim will disturb elf habitat, including an elf church”.

> A small cabin in the woods. In Finland.

> And if you need to wile away the hours until Christmas morning… I gift you the Live London Bus Tracker.
