Greenland, the ice cap and an apology!

The subject of global warming came up a few times during my trip to Greenland in March. The locals are open about the situation: yes, things have changed and things will continue to change but they have adapted to changes in the past and they will continue to do so, whether changes are due to global warming or to the natural evolution of our planet.

Still, I bet they’ll still be relieved to find out that the ice cap hasn’t shrunk by a massive 15% after all!

HarperCollins have now issued an apology over their representation of Greenland in their latest Time Atlas.

Well… that’s put the climate change debate right back in the spotlight!

Times Atlas publishers apologise for ‘incorrect’ Greenland ice statement (theguardian, 20 September 2011).
